# The eight sections

> What each of your brand's eight sections is for, which plans include them, and how to start one.

export const Screenshot = ({name, alt}) => {
  const SHOW_SCREENSHOTS = true;
  if (!SHOW_SCREENSHOTS) return null;
  return <Frame>
      <img className="block dark:hidden" src={`/images/${name}-light.png`} alt={alt} />
      <img className="hidden dark:block" src={`/images/${name}-dark.png`} alt={alt} />
    </Frame>;
};

**Plans:** Scout, Keeper and Guardian. Scout includes five of the eight sections; Keeper and Guardian include all eight.

Every brand in Brand Atlas has the same eight sections, one page each. Together they hold the whole brand book: who you are, how you look and how you sound. You cannot add or remove a section, but you can fill each one in your own way.

## What each section is for

You find them in the sidebar: **About** sits on its own at the top, and the other seven sit under **Atlas**.

| Section | Address | What it holds | Plans |
| - | - | - | - |
| **About** | `/about` | Who you are, and how to use your brand Atlas | All |
| **Logo** | `/logo` | Your logo, wordmark and the rules that keep them consistent | All |
| **Colours** | `/colours` | Your palette, what each colour is for, and how to use them together | All |
| **Fonts** | `/fonts` | Your typefaces and type system: scale, hierarchy and usage | All |
| **Brand Voice** | `/brand-voice` | How your brand sounds and writes | All |
| **Brand Values** | `/brand-values` | What your brand stands for, and the beliefs that guide its decisions | Keeper and Guardian |
| **Mood Board** | `/mood-board` | The look and feel beyond logo, colour and type: photography, illustration and icons | Keeper and Guardian |
| **Stationery** | `/stationery` | Your brand in the real world: digital, print, places and merchandise | Keeper and Guardian |

A section your plan does not include shows a lock in the sidebar, and opening it tells you which plan adds it.

## Start a section

A section with nothing in it yet says it is not set up and offers two ways to begin.

1. In the sidebar, click the section you want to start.
2. Choose how to begin:
   * **Start with a template** loads a ready-made layout with short placeholder text that tells you what goes where. Image spaces start empty, ready for your own files.
   * **Start with an empty canvas** gives you just the section's title, and you write the rest yourself.

3. The section opens straight in the editor. Replace the placeholder text, or write your own.
4. When you are happy with it, click **Publish**.

## Change a published section

1. Open the section and click **More actions** (the three dots at the top of the page).
2. Click **Edit**, make your changes, then click **Publish**.

## Good to know

* **Clear section**, in **More actions**, empties a section back to not set up. It permanently deletes everything in that section, so copy anything you want to keep first.
* If you move to a plan without a section you already filled, you can still read it, but you need to upgrade to edit it. See [Plans, trial and billing](/guides/plans-and-billing).

**Next:** [Horizons](/guides/horizons): add sections of your own.
