# Teams and multiple brands

> Run more than one brand from one account, invite your team, and hand a brand to someone else.

export const Screenshot = ({name, alt}) => {
  const SHOW_SCREENSHOTS = true;
  if (!SHOW_SCREENSHOTS) return null;
  return <Frame>
      <img className="block dark:hidden" src={`/images/${name}-light.png`} alt={alt} />
      <img className="hidden dark:block" src={`/images/${name}-dark.png`} alt={alt} />
    </Frame>;
};

**Plans:** Scout, Keeper and Guardian. Inviting a team needs Keeper or Guardian.

Your plan belongs to your account, not to one brand. Every brand you own runs on it, and your team's seats are counted across all of them. You can also be invited into other people's brands, which sit beside your own.

| Plan | Brands you can own | Seats, including you |
| - | - | - |
| Scout | 1 | 1 |
| Keeper | 3 | 3 |
| Guardian | 5 | 6 |

During the 14-day trial you can own 3 brands and have 3 seats.

## Switch between brands

1. Click your brand's logo at the top of the sidebar. The brand strip opens beside it.
2. Your brands are grouped under **Owned** and **Joined**. Click one to open it.
3. Click **+** (**New brand**) at the bottom of the strip to make another. If you have used every brand on your plan, it tells you so instead.

How the strip behaves is your choice: in your account settings, open **General**, then **Brand Strip**. **Keep visible** leaves it open on every page and **Auto hide** tucks it away until you click the logo. Under **Brand order**, **Your own order** lets you drag brands into any order and pin one to the top. Click **Save**. These settings are yours alone; your teammates keep their own.

## Invite your team

1. In the brand, open **Settings**, then **General**, then **Team**. You can do the same from your account settings, under **General**, then **Team**.
2. Click **Add a seat**. Its right side shows how many seats you have left.
3. Type their **Email address** and, if you like, their first name, then click **Send invite**.
4. They appear in the list as invited, with **Resend** and **Cancel** beside them.

The person gets an email. Its link opens a page inviting them in, where they click **Join** followed by your brand's name, signing in or signing up first if they need to. Your brand then sits in their strip under **Joined**.

To remove someone, click **Remove** beside them in **Team** and confirm.

## What a team member can do

Team members can edit and publish pages, use Brand Files, share links, the Playground, Henry and Oswald. Only the owner can manage the team, change the brand's name and look, handle billing, switch owner or delete the brand.

To leave a brand you joined, open your account settings, then **Overview**, find it under **Your brands** and click **Leave**.

## Hand a brand to someone else

1. In the brand, open **Settings**, then **General**, then **Switch owner**.
2. Type the **New owner**'s email address.
3. Under **And you**, choose **Stay seated** to keep a team seat, or **Move out** to leave the brand when they accept.
4. Add a **Note** if you like, then click **Switch owner**.

<Screenshot name="guides/teams-and-brands/switch-owner" alt="Brand Settings, General, Switch owner, with New owner, And you (Stay seated or Move out) and Note." />

Nothing changes until they accept. They take over the brand with its plan, billing and team, so they need a free brand on their own plan. Until then you can **Resend** or **Cancel** the handover.

## Good to know

* **One person, one seat.** Someone in two of your brands takes one seat, not two.
* **Invites take a seat only once accepted.**
* **A brand you make while on someone else's team** is yours, on your own plan.
* **When every seat is in use**, Keeper shows **See plans** to upgrade. On Guardian, **Ask for one more** sends us a request in **Help**.
