# ATLAS.md export

> Download your whole brand as one Markdown file that any AI tool can read.

export const Screenshot = ({name, alt}) => {
  const SHOW_SCREENSHOTS = true;
  if (!SHOW_SCREENSHOTS) return null;
  return <Frame>
      <img className="block dark:hidden" src={`/images/${name}-light.png`} alt={alt} />
      <img className="hidden dark:block" src={`/images/${name}-dark.png`} alt={alt} />
    </Frame>;
};

**Plans:** Scout, Keeper and Guardian.

ATLAS.md is your whole Atlas written as a single Markdown file, the format AI tools read best. Instead of explaining your colours, voice and rules every time you open ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor, you hand over one file and the tool works from what your brand actually says.

## Download your ATLAS.md

1. Click **ATLAS.md** in the sidebar, under **Treasures**. You can also use the **ATLAS.md** tile on your dashboard.
2. If you have published Horizons and want them in the file, tick **Include Horizons**, open **Select Horizons** and pick the ones to add. None are added until you pick them.
3. Click **Download ATLAS.md**. Your browser saves a file called `ATLAS.md`.

If no section has any content yet, the button is greyed out and the page says **Add content to a section first.**

## Use it with your AI

* **ChatGPT or Claude:** attach `ATLAS.md` to a chat, or paste its text in. In Claude you can add it to a Project's knowledge so every chat in that project has it.
* **Cursor and other code editors:** put `ATLAS.md` in your project folder so the editor can read it.
* **Any other tool:** paste or attach it the same way. It is plain text.

Then ask as you normally would, for example *"Write a product description for our new candle in our brand voice"*.

## What is in the file

* A title with your brand's name and the date it was made.
* Every section that has published content, in this order: About, Brand Values, Brand Voice, Logo, Colours, Fonts, Mood Board and Stationery. Empty sections are left out.
* On Colours and Fonts, your design tokens as CSS variables and Figma token JSON.
* The Horizons you picked, after the sections.

## Good to know

* **Only published content goes in.** Drafts never do, so publish first.
* **It is a snapshot.** The file is made fresh each time you download it. After you change your brand, download it again.
* **Files are named, not included.** Images and files appear by their file names. The files themselves stay in Brand Files.
* **Your dashboard keeps your last download.** The **ATLAS.md** tile offers **Download this version** for that exact copy, and **Get the latest** to make a new one.
* **Sections your plan does not include** are left out of the file.
* **Want a live connection instead?** [Connect your AI](/guides/connect-your-ai) lets Claude, ChatGPT and others read your current Atlas whenever they need it, so there is no file to keep up to date.

**Next:** [Developer handoff](/handoff): hand your colours and fonts to a developer.
